The famous British actress Audrey Hepburn has the place of honour at National Portrait Gallery! Recognised as a film and fashion icon, she was particularly active during Hollywood’s Golden Age. You must have heard of Breakfast at Tiffany’s or My Fair Lady?

 

A fascinating photographic exhibition called Portraits of an icon illustrates the life of actress and fashion icon Audrey Hepburn. From her early years as a chorus girl in London’s West End through to her philanthropic work in later life, Portraits of an Icon celebrates one of the world’s most photographed and recognisable stars.

 

You will see during the exhibition a selection of more than seventy images defining Hepburn’s iconography, including classic and rarely seen prints from famous photographers such as Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, Terry O’Neill, Norman Parkinson and Irving Penn. Alongside these, an array of vintage magazine covers, film stills, and extraordinary archival material to complete her captivating story.
