  1. The Expressive – “I want”

 

Do

Focus on future

Seek their ideas

Compliment them

 

Don’t

Get impatient

Be too impersonal

Dwell on details

 

  1. The Analytical – “I think”

 

Do

Talk facts

Allow time to think

Provide structured, ordered information

 

Don’t

Be too impersonal

Be vague or inconsistent

Press for immediate reaction

 

  1. Amiable – “I feel”

 

Do

Stress safety

Be personable

Involve them

 

Don’t

Be cool and impersonal

Confront them

Press for immediate commitment
