Gilmerton House

Gilmerton House

Gilmerton House,

I few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to one of my friends weddings in Edinburgh, their chosen venue was Gilmerton House and it remind me that sometimes the best venues are worth traveling to and certainly worth giving up that London post code or tube station for.

It was pure bless to be away from taxis and the sound of a loud city, it made the wedding feel like a romantic bubble that I never wanted to leave (and it was even my wedding!). Private houses like these often get forgotten but for corporate away days they are perfect for refuelling your guests and encouraging them to shake up their social culture.

This house in particular is part of an estate that comprises of one thousand acres; of which 100 acres are woodlands and walks. As well as this the house itself also has 10 beautiful bedrooms and a summer marquee. The house is owned by the Kinloch family, whose ancestors have lived there for twelve generations. I mean, what more could you ask for? So let’s break out of this city and hotel trend and all go drink some pimms in the sunshine!
