09 Dec The Dorchester
This week we got invited to visit the re-opening of The Grill at The Dorchester. With the excitement of eating some amazing food and the thought of seeing The Dorchester all decked out for Christmas, we jumped at the thought for a visit! As per usual, it did not disappoint.
An iconic British hotel, The Dorchester has been at the heart of London’s Mayfair overlooking Hyde Park since 1931. A room and suite refurbishment programme began in 2012 with a fresh look by interior designer Alexandra Champalimaud that stays true to the hotels classic English residential style, fusing contemporary comfort with the timeless glamour and heritage of the property. Exceptional dining is available to guests in The Promenade, China Tang and three Michelin star Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, and now The Grill at The Dorchester.
The youngest head chef in the restaurant’s 88-year history, Tom’s arrival marks the next chapter for The Grill at The Dorchester under the direction of fresh talent. Over the coming months Tom will be behind the scenes, making way to put his own stamp on the legendary dining room and its menus. One of London’s finest young chefs, Tom joins from his role as head chef at Michelin-starred Alyn Williams at The Westbury. Beginning his career at the age of 15, Tom’s talent saw him ascend the ranks at leading restaurants including: Le Talbooth; L’Autre Pied and Dabbous.
If you ever go and sample some of Tom’s amazing food, be sure to try his take on the double decker!
