The present Savoy Place was designed by Stephen Salter and H Percy Adams, architects, as a joint Examination Hall for the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Surgeons. They pride themselves on inspiring, informing and influencing the global engineering community to engineer a better world, “As a diverse home across engineering and technology, we share the knowledge that helps make better sense of the world in order to solve the challenges that matter”.
They offer versatile spaces ranging from the large and impressive to the small and intimate. Their rooms can be hired for meetings, conferences, training sessions, awards dinners, corporate receptions, exhibitions, fashion shows, product launches and other functions. My favourite room in the venue would have to be the Johnson Roof Terrace, which is a unique space on the roof which can take up to 200 people capacity! This rooftop is framed by breathtaking views of London, from St Pauls Cathedral to Westminster.
After the venue tour, we ended up walking straight into the amazing sushi masterclass! We love a good masterclass here at SevenEvents so was very intrigued as to what this masterclass could offer! We started off by learning how to make classic premium white sushi rice, then moved into making our own rolled sushi with our favourite fillings such as salmon sashimi with avocado, spicy tuna with avocado or watercress with beef steak and wasabi! There was plenty of creative styles in the room and we all learned so much!
