Live Event Deadlines
Keeping to deadlines for live events is key to producing a seamless and well run show day. This is especially crucial in relation to content, speaker requests and the flow of the day.
Clients often push the boundaries of event managers, due to internal pressures without considering the impact it will have on the delivery of their own event. When we set deadlines for clients, we always take a collaborative approach and agree what is both reasonable and realistic. To some clients, a day extra or a few hours later may not seem much, but impacts can cause unnecessary pressure. Supplying content for events in reasonable time allows the production team to test and spot any issues and also create a master presentation to run the day as seamlessly as possible. While we know changes on the day will occur, this should always be kept to a minimum and well managed to not cause any confusion to the event flow.
Planning in build day reversals for content heavy events is also key to make sure everyone has sufficient time to familiarise with the content and do a full run through. This ensures all key technicians, producers and the client are well prepared for the show day and any glitches are ironed out. After all in this business we always say bad rehearsal, great show!
