02 Jul making our post-lockdown events covid-19 safe
the global covid-19 pandemic has turned the events industry on its head. as planners start to consider their options for the rest of 2020 and into 2021, we ask what we can do to help ensure our future events are safe for all involved.
on arrival
placing self-service registration kiosks at the entrance of your event will help to limit face-to-face contact. we’ve utilised cvent on arrival software for many events gone by and this is a great way for delegates to confirm their attendance and receive their name badge. here, you can also provide temperature checks, face coverings, hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wipes for delegates to take with them throughout the day.
lunch time
whilst it’s almost impossible to offer an a la carte menu to 200 delegates at lunch time, there are things we can do to ensure the buffet offering is safe. stickers on the floor in the queue line will assist guests to socially distance from each other. food can be served in recyclable cardboard boxes by staff wearing the correct ppe.
onsite equipment
it’s important to consider the delegate journey during the planning stages, ensuring plexi-glass is in place where needed to separate guests and a one way system is in place to help encourage social distancing. in terms of av equipment, microphones need to be sanitized between uses and gloves worn when using equipment to help prevent the spread of infection.
