02 Jun mexico – destination spotlight
last week i was fortunate enough to be taken on a fam trip to mexico to experience it as a destination for meetings and events. the trip took place from thursday to monday, and incorporated 2 hotel stays, activities on each day and plenty of delicious food and mescal’s to drink. the destination is a great place for an incentive with many fun activities, culture to see and sun to soak up. it would also work exceptionally well for a meeting or event. the hotels we stayed in both had top notch meeting facilities and offer a great alternative to a standard conference or meeting.
hard rock hotel cancun
our first stop was the hard rock hotel cancun. this is a recommended spot for those groups wanting to experience the music and party atmosphere of the hotel. the hotel offers a range of different meeting and event spaces, including private set-ups on the beach and private terrace areas for larger groups. the entry level rooms come with large balconies, american style king-size beds and a hot tub in the room for guests to enjoy in free-time. the hotel is also completely all-inclusive so breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks can be enjoyed at anytime.
overall the hard rock hotel cancun is a really great hotel for those looking for a party style incentive or event.
unico maya riveria
now unico is a stunning hotel and is fantastically good value for the quality and service you receive at the hotel. another all inclusive property, but with a twist. there are multiple restaurants to choose from when onsite, including a buffet or al a carte menu for breakfast, as well as pool side lunch service. bedrooms are stunning, offering views over the ocean which you can enjoy from your hot-tub bath on the balcony. turn down service each night, room service breakfast if you so choose – a real luxury option for a fraction of the cost you would spend in london.
this is an adult only spot which is perfect for groups for meetings and events. a great location and a fantastic hotel.
activities
on the trip we were also lucky to experience some different activities. one day we headed off on our own speedboats, where we were able to drive them at a fairly quick speed through the sea. we stopped off half way and jumped in to the water to snorkel in the coral reef. this is a great activity for guests on an incentive – we really enjoyed it! another activity was rio secreto. this was an unexpected wow activity that saw us walking through an underground gave through fresh waters. the guide was fantastic and walked us through checking everyone was comfortable. we also did a range of other activities such as team building, cocktails making and saw the famous mayan pyramids which are one of the wonders of the world.
our mexico fam was incredible. we would definitely recommend mexico as a destination for an incentive, meeting or event. if you are looking to organise a team incentive or meeting, get in touch today to talk through your brief. email us at info@sevenevents.co.uk or call us on 020 7659 4430.
