01 Oct OktoberFest
OktoberFest
October is not only known for Halloween but for OktoberFest! Oktoberfest is the world’s largest Volksfest held annually in Munich. Millions of litres of beer are consumed over a 16-17 day period starting at the end of September and finishing in early October.
Here in London a few companies have decided to create their own Oktoberfest’s usually running right to the end of October. If you love beer and bratwurst then grab your lederhosen and get down to one of the below celebrations!
Erdinger Oktoberfest London
Hosted by ERDINGER Weißbräu – a private German brewery since 1886 – is bringing the Oktoberfest event to London this October! Taking place in Queen Elizabeth park you will find most of the celebrations taking place inside the large constructed tents, however if you venture out there will be a maze of rides along with a large beer garden to enjoy the riverside views from. Each waitress has been flown in from Germany to keep it as traditional as possible!
OktoberFest – Finsbury Park and Millwall Park
This particular Oktoberfest started in 2011 and has grown ever since. You can expect more than 50,000 guests to attend this year meaning it is one the biggest Oktoberfest events in London. Two different locations are being used this year – Millwall Park and Finsbury park. Blue and white colours characterize the tents which are furnished with traditional long tables. The bands will be German to make sure it is a completely authentic experience allowing you to sing and dance on the benches to ompha-ompha music!
Brixton Jamm
Brixton Jamm is the destination for one of the best events south of the river. This event will take place on the first 3 Saturdays of October! Not only are they supplying steins of beers, there will also be steins of cocktails and prosecco available, so even the beer haters can get involved! Street food will be served with a German Twist which you can enjoy while listening to Bavarian based beats. They will have a room dedicated to Bier Stein Pong!
