20 Apr The Quaint Old City of Edinburgh.
This past weekend we had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful Scottish Capital, Edinburgh. Although tiny compared to its neighbouring capital London it is still just as full of character and culture. The cities setting is so wonderfully striking: perched on a series of extinct volcanoes and rocky crags it’s impossible not to be stunned by its sheer beauty.
We were lucky enough to be staying at The Caledonian – Waldorf Astoria in a room with jaw-dropping views of Edinburgh Castle. The hotel itself oozed comfort and luxury with a breakfast layout to die for! Top tip, The Caledonian serves up some of the best haggis we’ve ever tasted.
Being in Scotland it was imperative that we tried and tested as many pubs and random alcoholic haunts available. It’s safe to say Edinburgh did not disappoint; there were kilts, shots of whisky and fabulous accents everywhere. It’s not an easy city to leave and we’ll certainly be visiting again.
