roadmap sees in-person events due to return this summer

we are pleased to share that the prime minister’s announcement last week is giving new hope to the events industry! boris johnsons speech in the house of commons last monday advised of a new four-step roadmap that will gradually take the uk out of lockdown.

the progression to the next step will ultimately be decided based on 4 indicators, which include infection rates and the success of the vaccine role out. there are early suggestions that in-person events could start to return as early as may. see more details on the steps below:

step one

  • from the 8th march
  • funerals for up to 30 pax
  • weddings/wakes for up to 6 pax

 

step two

  • no earlier than 12th april
  • funerals for up to 30 pax
  • weddings, wakes and receptions for up to 15 pax
  • event pilots

 

step three

  • no earlier than 17th may
  • most significant life events for up to 30 pax
  • indoor events for up to 1,000 pax or 50% of venue capacity (whichever is lower)
  • outdoor events for up to 4,000 pax or 50% of venue capacity (whichever is lower)
  • large seated outdoor events for up to 10,000 pax or 25% of venue capacity (whichever is lower)

 

step four

  • no earlier than 21st june
  • no legal limit on life events (subject to review)
  • larger events (subject to review)
