21 Nov Should all events go veggie?
With the recent news that WeWork has taken the decision to no longer serve meat at any of their events or expense any staff meals that contain meat, it’s got us thinking here in the SevenEvents office if all corporate events should follow suit?
It’s common knowledge that worldwide we are consuming too much meat, that it is destroying our planet and ultimately that the amount of meat we are eating is just not sustainable, yet still, we continue to ignore the problem not just in the events industry, but across the board. would it be so bad if the one meal consumed during an awards night, a gala evening or a conference breakout was vegetarian? Surely delegates would survive? or are you taking away a basic right from people and dictating their diets? one thing for sure is that with companies like WeWork taking the veggie lead and vegetarian and vegan caterers on the rise, it seems like an issue that cannot be ignored for much longer…
