07 Mar St Paddy’s Day 2016
Its time to dust off any bright green clothing and bring out those Guinnesses at the back of the Friday because its St Patrick’s Day in London in two weeks (Thu March 17 2016)!
We’ve put together some of our favourite grand ol’knees ups:
St Patrick’s Day Parade
With Trafalgar Square as the setting for London’s official St Patrick’s Day Parade in celebration of their patron saint, a blast is pretty much guaranteed. As it takes place on Sunday March 13, a sizeable proportion of the population is set to be looking appropriately green till at least Thursday, which is when St Patrick’s Day actually falls.
Last Libations
Imagine you’re about to die, what would your last cocktail be? A new drinking series asks that very question to cocktail aficianados who will offer up four cocktails to tempt you into the afterlife. Dave Mulligan will celebrate St Patrick’s Day in March with Poitin, the oft-overlooked Irish drink, creating a menu that shows off the unique flavours of a beverage once thought to cause blindness.
St Patrick’s Day at Mr Fogg’s Tavern
Head down to the mystical world of Mr Fogg’s Tavern on Thurs March 17 as his Irish cousin, Seamus Fogg, is in town and he’s throwing a good old-fashioned hooley. Seamus will be bringing his favourite Irish band along to the party and an Irish stew and specially crafted whisky cocktails will be on the menu to celebrate St Paddy’s Day.
