03 Nov The Dreaded Table Plan
Whether a wedding or corporate event, nobody can escape the drama of the dreaded table plan. With last minute changes, too many opinions and unrealistic deadlines, something so seemingly innocent can cause stress levels to rise and send even the most organised event managers into sheer panic.
So how to get it right and avoid the table plan melt down:
- Don’t start too early, wait to the guests list is pretty much finalised, otherwise you will make changes daily.
- Use a simple format, ideally excel and highlight changes in a different colour so you can keep track.
- Drop outs will happen, so some changes on site will be expected, but don’t change the whole table plan keep changes to a minimum to avoid error.
- Finally as the old saying goes, to make cooks spoil the broth. Keep decisions to a few key people, everyone will have an opinion, but this isn’t always helpful.
