There’s a new kid on the block and it’s a whopper!! The InterContinental London Hotel 02 is due to open early this year and is already taking enquiries. This 18 storey property houses 453 bedrooms, 2 restaurants, 2 bars and a luxury spa. This is also the first hotel to be within walking distance of the 02 Arena and has easy access to central London via The Thames Clipper or the Jubilee Line.
In addition the meeting space is truly impressive with a ballroom which has a capacity of 3000, is pillar free ,and fitted with state of the art technology. Further more there are 20 other meeting rooms which can host between 20-500 delegates, ideal for smaller meetings or breakout spaces.
The bedrooms have been decorated in a sumptuous, contemporary style with luxe fabrics, bespoke artwork and marble bathrooms. Moreover, all come with floor to ceiling glass windows providing panoramic views of the River Thames, Royal Greenwhich and the 02 Arena.
Finally the dining and drinks offerings are top notch with the Market Brasserie cooking dishes to show case the best produce from London, sourced from Borough Market, Smithfields and Covent Garden Market. The Peninsula is a luxury, intimate restaurant which offers modern European cuisine showcasing exotic flavours. However the highlight has to be the Eighteen Sky Bar, located on the top floor of the hotel. This is a sophisticated space serving cocktails, light snacks and has city skyline views to die for!
