01 Mar The Secret Garden
As spring is slowly seeping in, there’s nothing better than enjoying a leafy lunchtime break, with the sun on your face amongst the freshly bloomed flowers. Living and working in London can sometimes feel cramped, busy, dirty and grey, especially in the winter.
To escape this feeling and find some peace and tranquillity within this city, there are some wonderful green spaces that are hidden away. I like to call these ‘secret gardens’ as some aren’t known by most.
Dotted all over London, lies some of these tucked away treasures. Here are a few of some lovely spots that we’ve discovered – Kyoto Garden at Holland Park, is a beautiful spot with waterfalls, rock pools and koi carp. It looks like a Japanese fairy tale in west London. The perfect place to unwind with a book.
Another secret Garden, which is located just behind Charing Cross Road, is Pheonix garden. This has recently just re-opened after a little bit of love and attention. Other gardens and outdoor spaces include: The Hampsted Hill garden and pergola, the ancient mill at Mordan Hall Park, the butterfly house at Clissold Park, a wildflower meadow in London fields… Get out there and explore these wonders of our city.
