31 Jan Visit the Algarve!
The Algarve is located on Portugal’s southern coast and enjoys brilliant sunshine almost year-round – Nicola from the seven events team spent a weekend experiencing everything this destination has to offer, from the local cuisine through to sailing around the Ria national park – hear all about it below!
My impressions of the Algarve prior to visiting was that it was a tourist destination suited to families, hen parties and summer holidays. but what I’ve learnt this weekend is just how much the hotels, restaurants and standalone venues are ready to host large scales events, conferences and incentive groups!
the ria park resort is set in acres of luscious green trees, swimming pools and only a stone’s throw from the beach. they can offer a great mix of 4 and 5-star bedrooms suited to all group’s needs. the onsite team are raring to make your dreams become a reality – everything from a 20 pax incentive to a full buy out of their 400+ bedrooms. their conference centre is a large blank canvas space set with preinstalled rigging points and a loading bay. don’t want to be inside? hold your conference outside in the open green space and have food stalls on the tennis court. blue-sky thinking is welcomed which is a really refreshing approach from a large conference hotel such as this.
Delegates can enjoy a range of exciting activities in this area – from a visit to a luxury driving range to wine tasting at Danos. On the final day, we cycled around the Ria national park where we saw flamingos and learnt all about salt production which felt like the perfect activity to bring a group together and is suitable for all abilities.
When it comes to dining there’s no shortage of fantastic restaurants. We experienced exquisite seafood at 2 Pasos which provides stunning views across the beach whilst Bavino will serve you the best steak you’ve tasted. Our local host even told us you can take groups to catch their own oysters before preparing them and eating them for lunch!
We know that finding the right location for your incentive can be challenging, that’s why we work with you to understand your objectives and create bespoke proposals, every time. If you want to find out more about how we do this, contact a member of our events team, who will be happy to tell you all about their experiences.
