Capco were looking to bring together their UK team to celebrate Christmas and needed a venue that could accommodate 500 people. Their preference was a standing bowl food and canapes style party, with drinks, dancing and some entertainment such as a band or a DJ. Previous events had all been themed which Capco had liked, and so they asked us to come up with a few different options for this year.
After searching an array of venues, we shortlisted the ones that fit the brief and budget and it was decided that the event would take place at the Bloomsbury Ballroom. With its exquisite neo-classical façade, marble entrance halls and listed features, the Ballroom lends itself to an art-deco styled event, and the venue itself provided a “flappers and dappers” 1920’s theme for the night. Guests started their evening with a few glasses of champagne in the reception room which was styled into a casino with various betting tables around the room. Building up anticipation for the main room, once the casino had started to fill up, we opened the doors into the ballroom to reveal a big art-deco styled walls, flapper and dapper projections and Gatsby themed lighting. A variety of bowl food was served throughout the night finishing off with a selection of sweet canapes before the dancing really begun. The DJ turned up the music, stopping a few times for a short performance from flapper dancers on the stage and the party was in full swing. Casino tables opened and drinks were flowing, with something on offer for everyone.
