Our client offers an annual trip to all their employees as a thank you for being part of the company and for the success that they’ve achieved during the past 12 months. The trip runs from Friday to Sunday so a short haul destination is favoured to allow maximum time for the group to enjoy themselves. Dinners on both nights, accommodation and a day of activities take place to really show employees what the destination has to offer.
After a number of destinations were suggested to whet the taste buds, it was decided that Lisbon was the city of choice. Our clients stayed at the modern Epic Sana Lisboa which boasts incredibly helpful staff and a roof top pool, both of which were a huge draw for our client. Being a little bit of a whistle stop tour there was never a moment to waste, so after a quick transfer from the airport to the hotel, guests just needed to freshen up before meeting in the hotel lobby to hop in a taxi. The first night’s dinner was a treat that wowed each group of guests as they walked into the beautiful Kais. Their stunning surroundings never failed to impress and neither did the food or the service! With drinks flowing the group was then ready to continue the party across at Urban Beach, a cool club that literally parties the night away until 5am. The following day it was full steam ahead. Ensuring that the guests saw every aspect of Lisbon it was a short coach transfer to Carcavelos, a stunning area of beach. Guests were thrown a wet suit (and a quick tip of not putting it on back to front) and then it was hitting the waves for a surf class; a sure fire way to cure any sore heads from partying too hard at Urban Beach. After the class, feeling suitably refreshed, we walked down the beach to Capricciosa the busiest beachside restaurant we’ve ever seen. Then it was a quick trip back to the city centre we were greeted by our next mode of transport to see Lisbon from another perspective – Go Cars. Hair nets and helmets on, the guests wizzed round the streets, stopping for an ice cream and being ‘papped’ by every tourist walking the streets. No trip is complete without a little free time, so it was then back to the hotel to relax in the sunshine before heading out for the evening to the more intimate surroundings of the evenings restaurant, Faz Gostos. Sumptuous food and wine (with a little port for good measure) was served throughout before we walked the group out into the Barrio Alto area. Left to their own devices for the rest of the evening they could wander the streets of the area which was littered with bars or walk up to the viewing platform near the funicular and really soak up Lisbon at night. The following day it was back to the airport. A taster of Lisbon perhaps, but enough to want to come back and explore further.
