We are recruiting for a business development manager.

Role: Business Development Manager

Reporting to: Head of Incentive Travel

Contract type: Full Time

Location: Park Lane, London

Salary: Dependent on experience

Career defining opportunity to join a newly formed dedicated incentives team within an industry-leading London based events agency to help grow, form and cultivate new business and accounts.

 

Applicants Should Have:

Have a proven background in seeking out and winning new business, ideally gained from working in an event agency environment (although other event related backgrounds will be considered)

Be organised, passionate and have the ability to manage multiple projects/briefs at one time

Have great attention to detail, be creative and think outside the box

Have a solid understanding of the events market and experience of creating RFP responses and proposals

A delivery background in this area would be useful, but more important is the ability to build instant rapport and develop long term relationships with clients

Possess a commercially driven attitude and have proven experience in managing sales processes

Be friendly, sociable and engaging as you will be carrying out face-to-face meetings with clients and suppliers

Client contacts would be advantageous

Core responsibilities will include:

Developing sales strategy in line with business objectives

Account management including building new and developing current client relationships

Actively identifying new leads and opportunities

Following up on enquiries via telephone and email

Obtain in-depth knowledge of accounts; including company structure, key stakeholders, challenges and new business opportunities

Working closely with the Head of Incentives to expand the department and constantly update our knowledge and offering on product and services

Creating incentive programmes and proposals from scratch, working with DMCs and suppliers to ensure an on-brand, in-budget solution is provided and pitching these proposals to clients

Leading client meetings

Working with internal teams and the wider business

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and organised event manager to join our rapidly growing events team.

Applicants Should Have:

 

At least two years events agency experience
Successful candidates will be required to carry out face-to-face meetings with suppliers and clients and so it is imperative that they are presentable with an engaging personality
A clear and confident telephone manner
Ability to write detailed proposals in English
The role includes working on budgets & so confident financial management imperative
A passion for venue finding & the events industry
Excellent knowledge of London, UK & European venues
An in-depth understanding of what is involved in finding the right venue based on client’s specific criteria
The flexibility to travel for international events and work out of office hours
The motivation to become an integral part of an expanding business
A strong work ethic & masses of enthusiasm
The ability to multi-task, retain venue information/knowledge
Experience of working with online delegate management systems is desired

 

About the Job:

 

The role will involve research, supplier and client meetings, visiting venues, proposal writing, international travel and delegate management.
